With the television being overrun by cookery programmes with famous and Michelin Starred chefs showing the public how to cook amazing dishes in their own home kitchen the public has become increasingly more aware of provenance of their food and to that end the increase in sales of fine foods in the UK have steadily risen in recent years as more and more people seek to emulate their cooking heroes.
To that end the number of specialist fine food retailers on the high street has also increased as people are increasingly demanding the very best quality foods this has led the supermarkets to re think their own stance on quality and the foods that they offer as foods that were once considered niche are becoming more and more mainstream. Years ago products like kaffir lime leaves and fish sauce, or confit duck legs and lemongrass were rarely seen on the shopping lists of the British consumer although now these products can be found in store cupboards across the land.
The more adventurous tastes of the British pubic has also seen a rise in specialist restaurants such as Japanese Teppan and sushi bars to Greek Grills and Jamaican food outlets offering consumers the tastes and new foods that they now demand.
