Tyler Florence – Does he Really Care?
01 8 2007Tyler Florence is a celebrity chef. He has his own with his own Food Network shows, has been featured on network television shows, and even has his own featured dishes at Applebees. He’s also got a blog on AOL call Tyler Florence’s Chef’s Life. Now, I imagine Tyler is a pretty busy guy. Between his marriage that you can read about on the blog, his trip to his son’s classroom to make bananna bread, and the running around he’s doing for his show appearances, he probably doesn’t have a whole lot of time to post on his site. he somehow manages to find time to post, but does he really care about it? I suspect that he doesn’t.
The whole reason to have a blog is to talk about things you’re passionate about, or being paid to do I guess. Tyler posts little tidbits about himself and his life, and people come and comment on him. they ask questions; ask for his advice; ask for his recipes or his opinion, and to congratulate and encourage him. His blog is two months old, so it’s relatively new. But In that time, not once has Tyler replied to the people who’ve commented on his postings. Nobody has received any replies to their questions, recipe requests, or anything else they’ve contributed to his blog. The only thing I was able to find was a post by Tyler’s sous chef offering up a recipe for warm bacon ranch dressing. Delicious. So, is that to say that Tyler’s sous chef is actually more in tune with Tyler’s own readers than Tyler is? I’m not saying he is or isn’t, but I think it’s poor form for Tyler to post things, and then completely ignore his fans.
